Christ redeemed us out from the curse of the law, having come to be a curse on our behalf—because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree”—in order that the blessing of Abraham unto the Gentiles should come to be in Christ Jesus, in order that we should receive the promise of the spirit through the faith, Galatians 3:13–14.
Christ broke down the dividing wall between Jew and Gentile, abolishing in His flesh the enmity, that is, the commandments of ordinances, thereby creating a new man out from the two (Ephesians 2:15). The law prevented the Gentiles from being able to participate in the blessing from Abraham. This is not blessings, as in many, but blessing as in one. This blessing relates to the promise to Abraham in Genesis 22:17 concerning the singular seed that is plural (Galatians 3:16). By abolishing the middle wall of separation, God created a new man in which both Jew and Gentile are united (Colossians 3:10–11; Ephesians 4:24).
Therefore, the Church is not taking the place of Israel. Instead, the Church is the new man in which Christ is the head and the Church is the body (Ephesians 1:22–23; 2 Corinthians 5:17–Wherefore, since someone is in Christ, a new creation, the archaic things have passed away, behold, all things have become new). Israel will be saved and reside upon the earth, where the Church’s inheritance is in the heavens (Romans 11:26; Philippians 3:20).
Christ became a curse to remove the law. This allowed Gentiles to also receive the promised Spirit and share in Abraham’s blessing. Now, salvation is offered to the Gentiles. All who believe that Christ died on behalf of our sins and was raised on the third day will be saved (1 Corinthians 15:1–4).
