Memory Verse
In whom we have the complete redemption through his blood: the sending away of trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7).
In Colossians 1:14, we are informed that through Christ’s blood we have the complete redemption of sins. These two passages are not contradictory but together provide a full picture of the work of Christ on the cross, for we were dead in both our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1).
Prior to Adam’s sin, he determined within his heart to violate God’s law. This trespass caused spiritual separation from God—spiritual death (Romans 5:17). Through Christ’s blood, we have redemption for both the trespass and sins, completely redeeming us from the corruption and penalty that Adam passed down.
