But now He has obtained a different religious service, in as much as He is also mediator of a better covenant, which is legislated on better promises (Hebrews 8:6).
We are under a covenant of grace, not law (Galatians 5:4). Our religious service pertains to Spiritual things, because we are now alive to God in our spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17). The Old Testament was a shadow of the things to come (Hebrews 10:1). Through His blood, Christ entered the real Holy of Holies in the Heavens and secured full eternal redemption for us—the sending away of our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:12).
Therefore, let us live by grace, which gives us a benefit without consideration of merit, through living out who we are in Christ, for He is our righteousness, sanctification, and full redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).
