n Acts 27, Paul’s ship is caught in a terrifying storm.
They set out with a soft south wind, thinking everything was going well… but then came Heraclydon—a violent northeaster.
The ship was caught and couldn’t head into the wind—so they let it drive. Imagine being completely at the mercy of the sea!
They ran under shelter near Clauda, barely securing the skiff. Then they tied ropes under the ship to hold it together—fearing they'd hit the sandbanks of Syrtis.
They dropped the sails—fully surrendering to the storm—to avoid crashing.
The storm was so violent they started throwing cargo overboard… even the ship’s tackle—on the third day!
And then—no sun, no stars, many days of raging waves.
Finally, all hope that we would be saved was lost.
