The term “Bema seat” (Greek: βῆμα) refers to a raised platform and appears in several key passages in the New Testament. At the future Bema Seat of Christ, believers will undergo an evaluative—not punitive—examination. This examination is designed to assess each believer’s deeds after salvation, purging all unfit works, with the outcome being a purified presentation before the Father, though not affecting salvation itself. This doctrine emphasizes personal accountability and faithful living, and it is not something to be feared (2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10–12).
