Paul is driven out of Thessalonica and sent to Athens, where he confronts idolatry and addresses philosophers on Mars’ Hill about the resurrection. He travels to Corinth and, after a vision from the Lord, remains there teaching for 18 months. The Jews bring him before Gallio, but the case is dismissed, and Paul enjoys a time of peace. Paul then begins his journey toward Jerusalem, taking a vow and traveling with Priscilla and Aquila. He leaves them in Ephesus after reasoning with the Jews and continues on to Antioch, strengthening the churches along the way. Meanwhile, Apollos, an eloquent man strong in the Scriptures, is taught further by Aquila and Priscilla. He ministers powerfully in Achaia and becomes a leader in Corinth, though the carnal nature of the church there later causes divisions.
