The Different Types of Created Beings
Seraphim
Seraphim are fiery in appearance and possess six wings, as described in Isaiah 6:2.
Their Abilities and Activities
Seraphim have several notable abilities and roles. They can speak, as seen in Isaiah 6:3-7, and they have the ability to fly (Isaiah 6:6). Their primary function is to praise God, as recorded in Isaiah 6:3. Additionally, they are involved in the purification process, as demonstrated in Isaiah 6:6-7.
Angels
Among the angels, Scripture identifies different ranks and classifications. The Archangel Michael is specifically mentioned in Jude 9. Other ranks include Thrones (Colossians 1:16), Dominions (Ephesians 1:21), Principalities (Ephesians 3:10), and Powers (Ephesians 6:12).
Demons originate from the two lowest ranks of angels, as indicated in Revelation 12:4 and Ephesians 6:12.
Humans
Humans are created as a tripartite being, consisting of spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). They are everlasting and do not cease to exist (2 Thessalonians 1:9; Matthew 25:41). Unlike angels, humans were a single creation, as stated in Genesis 2:7.
Humans were made in the likeness and image of God (Genesis 1:26) and are rational beings (1 Corinthians 2:11). Originally, they possessed a garment of light (1 Timothy 6:16) but, after the fall, were made in the likeness of Adam (Genesis 5:3).
The Fallen Condition of Humanity
Due to sin, humans became spiritually separated from God (Romans 5:17) and subject to physical death (Romans 5:12). In their fallen state, they bear the image of Adam, having been stripped of their garment of light (Genesis 3:7). Consequently, they must clothe themselves with animal skins or plant coverings (Genesis 3:21).
Animals
Unlike humans, animals are bipartite beings (Genesis 1:24). They do not possess a spirit, making them distinct from humans.
The Distinction Between Humans and Animals
Humans and animals are not the same type of beings. Scripture describes four types of flesh (1 Corinthians 15:39), affirming that humans are tripartite while animals are bipartite. Humans possess both a spirit and a soul, whereas animals only have a soul.
Within the creation of animals, there are three subcategories: mammals, fish, and birds (1 Corinthians 15:39). Scripture contradicts the theory of evolution, as seen in Genesis 2:18-20, where Adam was able to understand every created being. However, no suitable counterpart was found for him. To complete him, God created Eve from Adam, making her his counterpart (Genesis 2:21-22).
