To maintain control over humans, Satan energizes his sons to appear as ministers of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:15). The sons of this world are more insightful concerning the ways of the world in their generations than the sons of light (Luke 16:8). Through culture, commerce, industry, and his judicial system, Satan pacifies the world, enabling him to sustain control over its governments and people (1 John 5:9). Satan offered this control to Jesus when tempting Him (Luke 4:5-7).

Government is not a creation of Satan. In the third dispensation, God implemented government for the purpose of sustaining an element of peace (Genesis 9:6). Its intent is to maintain order in a fallen world. God has given government the authority of the sword to punish those who do evil and reward those doing good (Romans 13:4).

The world system uses the desires of the eyes, desires of the flesh, and the pride of biological life to maintain control over humans (1 John 2:16). Christians are instructed not to direct love towards the world, nor the things of the world, because the love of the Father is not in the world (1 John 2:14).

The desires of the world are continually passing away (1 John 2:17). Desires related to fashion, wealth, social status, among many other world system constructs, are continually changing to maintain a passive control over the human race. In contract to these desires, the Christian is to manage his life by the desirous will of God, which does not change for this age (1 Jon 2:17).

In Christ, we have been crucified to the world (Galatians 6:14). The way the world is setup, it is indifferent to Christianity (1 John 3:13). It only seeks what it desires from the saints, at times giving an appearance of support when the actions of the church align with its goals. However, the Church is not out from the world, and therefore, it has no fondness for her (John 15:19).
